Born and raised in Michigan, but have spent the past 20 + years in Georgia with 16 of those in Blue Ridge so this has been Home for a long time!
Prior to founding First Fruits, I worked as a Hand Therapist specializing in traumatic injuries for 25 years and raising three children. Upon retiring, I began volunteering with a Food Ministry that served North Georgia. God immediately placed on my heart a love for the people that we were serving in East Polk, Tn and Fannin County, Ga.
God put a calling on my life 5 years ago to further serve those communities. This led to the establishment of First Fruits in 2019. Our desire is to be different. This includes a focus on developing relationships, being consistent, being present in the communities, and to be an organization that earns the trust of and serves those in need.
Our Ministry is mobile and includes a commercial food trailer. We take pride in not only providing hot meals, non-perishables, fresh fruits / vegetables, and other necessities while we serve in the name of Jesus. This includes serving in other capacities such as transportation to appointments, and even finding solutions and fixes as needs are identified. We strive to not only meet basic need, but also to bring a message of Hope to all we engage with.
When not serving I enjoy spending time with my husband of 37 years, our 3 children, 2 labradoodles, our amazing group of First Fruits volunteers, and especially our 3 grandchildren (soon to be 4!). Hiking, boating, college football, and traveling are some of my favorite past-times.
